Linear Actuator Options

Depending on your individual requirements, SWP can offer a range of additional options for your linear actuators, including:

A full range of brackets can be supplied to allow your linear cylinder to be mounted securely.

Self Aligning Couplers eliminate expensive precision machining for mounting fixed or rigid guide in cylinder for slide applications. Our couplers increase cylinder efficiency by eliminating friction caused by misalignment.

You can request extended tie rods to allow addition mounting possibilities for your linear cylinder.

Allow your cylinders to be mounted tightly and securely to its target position.

Provide greater corrosion resistance for those environments that require no rust. Especially useful in the food and marine industries.

Protecting your cylinder and its exposed parts from dust, dirt and grime that could emanate form your application or industrial process. Especially useful for external and extreme climates, such as mining and drilling activities.

Used for understanding your cylinder's relative stroke position. A transducer can feed this information back via a range of graphical user interfaces. Useful when it is critical to understand the position of your device at any given point.

Providing useful information that your cylinder has reached its defined target position, whether that be start, mid-point or finish.

Useful for showing leakage past seals. Often this leakage emanates in the gland drain where it can be captured and until new seals can be fitted.

Allow a range of end of stroke tolerance to be set to suit the individual application requirements. Extremely useful when setting the closed or open positions to doors or other applications where a precise position is set.

This is often seen in our sub-sea and naval business where low carbon variants offer greater corrosion resistance along with, in certain instances, a galvanic cell.

We have experience with NAB, Copper Alloys, Duplex, Monel, and Stainless variants. SWP will select and recommend the perfect material for your application considering the parameters that are critical to your application.

Testing

Standard testing subjects all of our actuators to a rigorous range of functional checks including: rotation, pressure & cushioning. We offer a test report and CofC if required.

Additionally, SWP can offer higher levels of testing to include: rotation speed, oil cleanliness levels, water pressure (zero leaks from outside to in), as well as long duration PLC tests, and 100% inspection of all critical to quality parts.
